Keepin' it Simple

Our storage building. The curved roof metal is real quick, fire resistant, light and strong in the wind (but can't be walked on). The strength gained in the curvature means almost no rafters and associated time and trouble. figured out the curve from my auto body/aircraft knowledge! Passed down from many generations.

 Truck is unfinished.

LOOKY WHAT I FOUND

My camera is a little poor but here's a plant I found growin' in the middle of my driveway. I held it up to the sky to have a solid back ground. Cool plant. Excellent background! A lantern plant.

Kept going off, then ran out of gas. And I slept happy all night.

Break Down

I don't think I showed y'all my latest truck repair. My good neighbor's truck wouldn't run,,,cause the mice filled the air cleaner with dog kibble! Must have seemed like a great stash!

It's the rocket stove from hell!
Four barrels high and a 2nd barrel inside each barrel plus a heavy wire arrester and a twelve foot tall rain coat. The "china cap" is next.

OUR HOUSE

Went back to April post and I liked this picture so well I had to post it again today.

The first picture took me an hour to go take, now it's just "cut and paste" (cheatin')!

HEADS OR TAILS-- I WIN or WHICH END BITES

Don't chop them in half, or you'll have twice the problem
 Dealin' with the Critters
Third or fourth one I've caught, up on the house. Two years ago I caught one, I kid you not, inside the pillow case on my pillow (while my head was laying on it). Makes my skin crawl. At my neighbors house two years ago, I opened the front door, and one came off the threshold, and climbed over my naturally bare foot. Saw one three years back, just out side the house that was 10 inches long. This one is about half that. I've caught most of them by hearing them skitter before I see them. Last year "W" caught one about 7 inches long. Scorpions like the house too. We don't get them in the house unless we screw up and bring them in with some other object. Brought a roll of plastic sheeting in two years back, and pregnant mom with babies came crawlin' out latter that evening, all over the walls! "W" has a black light-flash light and she hunts them sometimes at night. They "Shine" green.

SHOCK PHOTO

The concrete jungle-Big D.

Quick spin around the,,,

White Tails

Passing through like they do. Doin' what they do. A shame I don't have a good camera, I have such a good vantage point. White tails don't hang much. They don't trust any body. A good way to stay safe! Ya don't want to make anybodies day!

OUR HOME FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET

LOW FIVE

My ATV primitive footwear is still going strong. Up and down the mountain. Every day. Most every pound of house and material was brought up here on this pair of sandals.
We find ATV tracks in the oddest places. Like someone drove under the house.
We all watch tracks a lot here cause we live in the "dirt jungle".
And of course you know I don't want to look, well,,,  you know,   un-mountain.

UPDATE: Still wearing them Feb 2014.
