I have a friend (Mike) that had a mobile home to throw away. So I helped him! I saved the aluminum skin off the house and a few boards and the rest was dismantled and taken to the town dump. When it came to gettin rid of the frame I decided on the spot that it was my bridge to the world! We broke off the outriggers and the trailer tongue and it went from a 14' X 70' to a 8' X 65'. Then another friend (Ron) who towed it to our creek with his 2.5 ton military dream liner. (think I wasn't in heaven watching it all? I love big stuff, especially trucks!) The next day I strapped a 1200 lbs. winch to the frame and pulled it into place then began to lift the low end. I used barrels and blocking to hold it in place for now. So,,, now the hard part starts. I'll spend the next several months digging and forming up some concrete walls and columns (or whatever shape I decide on,,, I'm still processing). My 2 current ideas are below.

It's all part of my long term heath plan. So far it's killin' me! |
