IF YOU BELIEVE THIS,,, THEN I HAVE A BRIDGE TO SELL YA! A SKYCASTLE BRIDGE

I have a friend (Mike) that had a mobile home to throw away. So I helped him! I saved the aluminum skin off the house and a few boards and the rest was dismantled and taken to the town dump. When it came to gettin rid of the frame I decided on  the spot that it was my bridge to the world! We broke off the outriggers and the trailer tongue and it went from a 14' X 70' to a 8' X 65'. Then another friend (Ron) who towed it to our creek with his 2.5 ton military dream liner. (think I wasn't in heaven watching it all? I love big stuff, especially trucks!) The next day I strapped a 1200 lbs. winch to the frame and pulled it into place then began to lift the low end. I used barrels and blocking to hold it in place for now. So,,, now the hard part starts. I'll spend the next several months digging and forming up some concrete walls and columns (or whatever shape I decide on,,, I'm still processing). My 2 current ideas are below.
It's all part of my long term heath plan.                       So far it's killin' me!

What I have so far:

It is our rainy season so it is comfortable outside and surprisingly few mosquitoes!

Advanced Training

The mission to get a neighbors old tank down the mountain from their property and get it back up to our property, set and converted into a level secure holding bin for burnable trash was accomplished in two days. It really went well and was much easier than you might think. I used old oak cribbing to roll it the last fifty feet over some pine saplings that I wanted to save.
Moving big stuff by hand is cool. It's all just a balancing act.

I'll finish it with a concrete base and a good steel door. I cut the opening with a hammer and flat bladed screwdriver. (one hr. to cut but safer than saws and grinders). Now our paper trash will be safe from critters, rain and everything else.

I Guess It's Curtains for Us.

The Black Witch,,,
in our kitchen, on our spice rack.
It's just like living in a movie around here.

(copied from Wikipedia)The noctuid moth Ascalapha odorata bears the common name Black Witch. It is considered a harbinger of death in Mexican and Caribbean folklore. In Spanish it is known as "Mariposa de la muerte" (Mexico & Costa Rica),[1] "Pirpinto de la Yeta" (Argentina), "Tara Bruja" (Venezuela) or simply "Mariposa negra" (Colombia); in Nahuatl (Mexico) it is "Miquipapalotl" or "Tepanpapalotl" (miqui = death, black + papalotl = moth); in Quechua (Peru) it is "Taparaco"; in Mayan (Yucatán) it is "X-mahan-nah" (mahan = to borrow + nah = house);[2] in Jamaica and the Caribbean, the moth is known as the "Duppy Bat" or "Money moth".[3] Other names for the moth include the Papillion-devil, La Sorcière Noire, or the Mourning or Sorrow moth.
Larva

Ascalapha odorata is a large bat-shaped, dark-colored nocturnal moth. Males can attain a wingspan of 16 cm. The dorsal surfaces of their wings are mottled brown with hints of iridescent purple and pink, and, in females, crossed by a white bar. [Males lack this bar.] The diagnostic marking is a small spot on each forewing shaped like a number nine or a comma. This spot is often green with orange highlights. Females are somewhat smaller, reaching 12 cm in width, and lighter in color. The larva is a large caterpillar up to 7 cm in length with intricate patterns of black and greenish brown spots and stripes.

The black witch moth is found throughout Central America and Mexico, with its distribution extending from Brazil to the southern United States.[4] It is the largest noctuid found in the continental United States.

The Mountain Lion Sleeps Tonight

The "Mountain Lion" has been moved to the front of the castle. It sits on a one inch slab of black slate and some square bricks that I cut out of rocks from the back yard. I like it much better in front.
Destruction and Salvation just over the next hill.

IF IT'S 6 INCHES,,, IT'S A MILE

THE CONCRETE WIRE NEXT TO "OUR" MOTH IS BASED ON SIX INCH SQUARES.
Our moth next to our concrete wire is based on SEVEN INCHES!
Raining Rainbows
For some it may rain cats and dogs. At SkyCastle we insist that it rain,,, rainbows
